Data Platform Manager

MUST be local to New York City, Hybrid Schedule

Salary Range: $105k to $150k

Seeking a hands-on Data Platform Manager to lead a small team (2–5) in onboarding, maintaining, and automating enterprise data platforms. This role combines platform administration, cloud service configuration, and team leadership. Candidates should bring strong technical experience, particularly with Azure or similar, and a proactive, independent work style.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a hybrid/offshore team; drive priorities and delivery
• Administer and support platforms across Windows and Linux environments
• Configure and integrate cloud services (Key Vaults, storage, VMs, VNets)
• Establish SLAs, formalize onboarding processes, and ensure platform security
• Automate maintenance, updates, and compliance tasks
• Monitor system health, perform upgrades, and ensure regulatory alignment
• Drive structure, documentation, and operational consistency

  Required Skills:

• 5+ years in enterprise platforms/admin, scripting (IaC), and cloud services
• Strong Azure (or equivalent cloud) experience, Terraform, and Kubernetes
• Fluent in enterprise networking concepts (private links, certs, VLANs)
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working independently with remote teams
• Experience in regulated environments or familiarity with change control processes

  Nice to Have:

• Exposure to Databricks, Airflow, Kafka, and enterprise app onboarding
• Experience bringing structure and automation to platform operations

  Ideal Background:

• Progressed from desktop/server/app support into platform planning/architecture
• Thrives in fast-moving, challenge-driven environments
