* This position will be required to travel locally between residential real estate offices *

Barristers Land Abstract is a successful, experienced and dynamic settlement agency located throughout Southeast Michigan.

Do you possess excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills as well as the ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment?

We have an immediate opening for a Closer to coordinate and close real estate transactions for agents, buyers, and sellers in accordance with instructions contained in Purchase Agreement and instructions provided by lender, if applicable.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinating settlements
• Ordering payoffs, lien releases, and other items for closings
• Clearing title issues
• Reviewing loan documents
• Preparing files for recording
• Review buyer/seller documents prior to execution
• Prepare and review estimated settlement statement
• Discuss (via phone)  disbursement information, etc. with buyers, sellers, agents, lenders, etc.
• Follow up with lender for additional loan requirements, if any
• Conduct closings (some traveling required)
• Confirm that all loan conditions have been satisfied and obtain lender’s approval to transfer title, as applicable
• Issue all disbursement checks
• Verify that all funds have been received and transaction in in balance prior to releasing final statements and checks

Other knowledge, skills and abilities required are:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Associate’s Degree preferred
• A minimum of 3 years recent settlement experience is preferred but not required – we will train the right candidate!
