At Starlight Academy, we believe childhood should be full of wonder, exploration, and care. Our small, nature-inspired center is seeking a  Part-Time Float Teacher to support classrooms serving children ages 18 months to 5 years.
We’re looking for someone who brings  energy, flexibility, and heart — a true team player who enjoys collaborating with passionate educators and helping young children thrive.

Duties

Support lead teachers by providing break coverage
Step into classrooms during afternoon hours to supervise and engage children
Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and routines
Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment
Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
Follow center policies, daily schedules, and licensing regulations
Participate in daily prep, end-of-day organization, and light cleaning tasks

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old
Ability to supervise and engage children ages 1–5 in a group setting
Reliable, punctual, and able to follow direction
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to stand, sit on the floor, and lift up to 30 lbs as needed

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in childcare or early childhood education
CPR/First Aid certification
Familiarity with play-based learning
