Shape the Weekend with Teknor Apex

From Alfred Fain’s 1924 Rhode Island tire shop to today’s global footprint, Teknor Apex has grown into an international custom compounder serving customers worldwide. A day in the life

Picture this: you arrive for your weekend shift, gear up with your PPE, and walk the line to spot-check equipment. A mixer needs attention—your troubleshooting gets it back online quickly. You collaborate with operators, share insights with teammates, and log work in maintenance software. Later, you rig a component safely, complete precision welding and pipe fitting, and take a scissor lift up for a visual inspection. Throughout the day, you prioritize safety, communicate clearly, and tackle mechanical challenges across the site—keeping production humming.

• Operate a forklift and scissor lift safely and effectively.
• Arrive on time and maintain reliable attendance.
• Perform precision tasks including welding, pipe fitting, rigging, and lubrication.

Schedule

Weekend shift with additional weekday coverage as needed (up to 3 days). Shifts are offered in 8- or 12-hour increments. Note: the role requires some weekday support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required); a 2-year technical or vocational degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
• Four (4) or more years of relevant professional experience (e.g., general mechanic, pipefitter, chemical manufacturing, refinery) is preferred.
• Millwright and/or precision mechanic background preferred.
• General understanding of basic electrical gear, motors, and controls.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend documents in English is desired.

PPE and physical requirements

• Willing and able to wear PPE: earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, hardhat, and steel-toed shoes (required).
• Capable of standing, walking (including stairs), twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing for extended periods.
• Able to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds (required).
