McKinley Paper and Packaging’s Wisconsin Mill is seeking a strong Cost Accountant to join its team. The Wisconsin Mill is part of McKinley Paper and Packaging, a division of Bio Pappel. Bio Pappel is a privately held paper and packaging manufacturer headquartered in Mexico City. The Wisconsin Mill, McKinley’s largest paper mill, produces high quality recycled containerboard, natural kraft packaging, bag, and printing & writing grades of paper. We have a rich history of innovation & manufacturing a diverse array of products from our Wisconsin manufacturing facility dating back to 1889. or
Primary responsibilities:
§ Collecting and analyzing financial and manufacturing data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor
§ Recommending changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
§ Analyzing impact of changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine effects on cost
§ Analyzing manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual costs
§ Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures
§ Analyzing audits of costs and preparing reports and analysis
§ Developing projections for new and proposed product costs
§ Maintaining the cost system and appropriate records
§ Assisting in month, quarter and year-end close of the general ledger
§ Conducting physical inventories and monitoring the cycle count program
§ Reconciling raw material inventories
§ Issuing raw materials to production orders
§ Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or similar and a minimum of two (2) to four (4) years in manufacturing cost accounting experience
· Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory and cost accounting
· Must be able to analyze data, develop conclusions and recommendations
· Must be proficient in Excel with the ability to manage databases
· Experience using an integrated ERP system. SAP experience is a plus
· Strong analytical, communication, organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
· Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently. The position will work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, utilities, purchasing, and all other areas of the mill
· Must be available to work on-site. This position is not eligible for a remote or hybrid schedule

· Prolonged periods of sitting or standing while working on a computer
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
· Required to walk in a hot, loud environment to collect or confirm data, attend meetings, etc.

Summary of the Operation and Location: McKinley operates a paper mill in Combined Locks, WI (near Appleton WI and only about 30 miles south of Green Bay and 100 miles north of Milwaukee). The facility is located on the southern shore of the Fox River and about 10 miles north of Lake Winnebago and High Cliff State Park. Appleton and the surrounding area offer excellent schools, a vibrant culture, recreational opportunities and a strong economy.
