Blade Repair Technician
Compensation for Blade Repair Technician Level III:
$35-45+ per hour, commensurate with experience
Compensation for Blade Repair Technician Level II:
$25-35 per hour, commensurate with experience
Requirements for Blade Repair Technician:
Possession of a valid driver's license
Capability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment
Compliance with safety weight restrictions
Valid work authorization for non-US citizens
Willingness to travel for extended periods
Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Ability to climb up to 300 feet and work at heights
Proficiency with hand and power tools
Experience with internal and external composite inspections
Experience with minor/major structural repairs
Experience with rigging/derigging
Preferred Qualifications for Blade Repair Technician:
GE Qualified Electrical Worker
OSHA certification
GWO BST/ART
Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office
Familiarity with wind turbine maintenance and assembly
Ability to complete, maintain and communicate necessary documentation and reporting
Job Description for Blade Repair Technician Level III:
As a leader in renewable energy solutions, International Wind is on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Composite Technician - Level III to oversee and safely execute advanced wind turbine blade repairs. This role is crucial for maintaining the structural integrity and performance of our turbines. The position demands a high level of expertise, leadership, and the willingness to travel extensively. The following experience is required:
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with IW EHS and Site Safety Requirements.
Effective communication with customers, site project teams and IW Corporate office.
Daily Planning, including job safety assessments, rigging and lift plans, status reporting including timesheet and quality requirements.
Initial inspection of scope of work requests and effective communication with IW Engineering on repair plans and additional work, as required.
Execution of repair plans in accordance with OEM, Site and IW policies and procedures and budget requirements.
Support the development of the final repair report, including all inspection hold points, approvals and final acceptance.
Maintain all vehicles, tool trailers, and equipment in accordance with IW policies and procedures.
Provide performance feedback on field technicians and support project post-mortem reviews and IW continual improvement process.
Job Description for Blade Repair Technician Level II:
This role involves climbing and working on wind turbines, conducting safety checks and inspections, grinding and laminating fiberglass, documenting work, and performing maintenance tasks. The position requires extensive travel. The following experience is required:
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with IW EHS and Site Safety Requirements.
Effective communication with site lead, site project teams and IW Corporate office.
Support the plan of the day, including job safety assessments, rigging and lift plans, status reporting including timesheet and quality requirements.
Under the direction of the site lead technician, execution of repair plans in accordance with OEM, Site and IW policies and procedures and budget requirements.
Under the direction of the site lead technician, support the development of the final repair report, including all inspection hold points, approvals and final acceptance.
Conduct inventory inspections, equipment inspections, and daily inspections in accordance with accordance with IW policies and procedures.
