Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Machine complex tooling and fixtures working with Manufacturing Engineering and Design
- Engineering
- Perform secondary operations on production units by using manual multi axis millers and lathes,
- manual drill presses, shears, saws, etc.
- Set-up and run manual machine shop equipment including multi axis millers and lathes, manual
- drill presses, shears, saws, etc.
- Set-up and operate surface grinding machines.
- Work from drawings, prints, and / or work instructions.
- Develop, fabricate, and sharpen various cutting tools and specialty tools.
- Inspect GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) features using basic and advanced
- inspection techniques.
- Cut open welded units to complete production operations.
- Assist shop management in training shop employees in common machine shop practices and
- company specific processes and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High mechanical aptitude
- Knows how to read blueprints
- Proficiency in trigonometry
- Working knowledge of computers.
- Understand the mechanics of chip formation and metal cutting.
- Knowledge of ANSI/EIA RS - 274 ('G' code NC programs)
- High School Diploma or GED from accredited institution
- 3+ years" experience in trade as a tool maker.
- Experience or formal education in design/drafting with emphasis on CAD
- Resides within a reasonable commuting distance.
- US person within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a US person as a US Citizen, US
- Permanent resident (Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee
* Preferred:
* AS in technical field.
