As part of the Studio Technology organization, you will join a group of seasoned technologists dedicated to solving a range of creative problems through innovation, strategy, and forward thinking. This role sits within the Strategic Initiatives & Product team, which drives clarity, cohesion, and excellence for Studio Technology through its focus on intentional design, strategy, product, and operations.
What You Will Do:
As a software engineering intern, you’ll contribute to the development of an exciting application used to manage cinematic canon for our Studio banners and stakeholders. Reporting to the team’s product leader and working under the guidance of a technical lead, you will assist with front-end programming tasks and support specific feature development or updates for this knowledge graph-based application. The ability to collaborate effectively in a small team environment and also work well with both technical & non-technical stakeholders will be key to your success on this team.
Role & Responsibilities
Support front-end feature development for specific features on a web application
Leverage the specific technologies, languages, and frameworks required to build
feature sets (as outlined in Basic & Preferred Qualifications)
Participate in code reviews, QA, and troubleshooting sessions
Develop and maintain technical documentation for your code and work
Work closely with Product team using agile (scrum, kanban) methodologies and
software development lifecycle models, as well as traditional project management principles and practices
Thoughtfully account for stakeholder requirements & feedback in all stages of
development work, translating those needs into well-informed solutions and seeking clarity where needed

Demonstrate the ability to understand product requirements and contribute to technical solutions under the guidance of a product manager and technical lead

Required Qualifications & Skills:
Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
Relevant coursework or including (but not limited to) computer science, software engineering, etc.—or personal projects demonstrating skills in these areas
Experience using modern web libraries and frameworks (React, Tailwind,etc)
Demonstrated ability to solve problems proactively, thoughtfully, and flexibly
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Previous internship experience working on web applications or products
Previous experience in the entertainment or technology industry
Education:
Junior or Senior year preferred
Major or previous coursework in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program AND returning to school the semester/quarter following the internship OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
Be at least 18 years of age
