Staff Accountant / Payroll Administrator – Sarasota, FL
Our agency is currently working with a respected mid-sized manufacturing company in Sarasota, Florida, to identify a qualified Staff Accountant / Payroll Administrator to join their accounting team.
This is a full-time, on-site opportunity for a detail-oriented and deadline-driven professional who thrives in a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Position Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing weekly payroll for approximately 75 employees, supporting month-end close processes, and handling a variety of accounting functions. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, general accounting principles, and excellent organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
-Process in-house weekly payroll for 75 employees (hourly, salaried, and commission-based)
-Handle 941 payroll tax filings
-Assist the Controller with month-end close procedures
-Perform general ledger reconciliations and journal entries
-Submit monthly sales tax filings
-Monitor and manage company credit card spending
-Provide support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
-Maintain and respond to the accounting department’s email inbox
Candidate Requirements:
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in both payroll and staff accounting roles
-Proficiency in QuickBooks payroll is required
-Experience with NetSuite is a plus
-Strong Excel skills (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP)
-Solid understanding of GAAP
-Strong analytical, organizational, and computer skills
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
