POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to provide staff support to two key committees: the Commission on Victims in the Courts (COVIC) and the Committee on Family Court (COFC). This role also serves as project manager for several statewide initiatives, including:

  • The regular review and revision of Arizona’s probate fee guidelines
  • The quadrennial review and revision of the Arizona Child Support Guidelines and Spousal Maintenance Guidelines

This position involves a broad range of responsibilities centered on policy development, court operations, and project management. The role includes conducting analytical studies, interpreting data, and preparing reports to support decision-making. It requires close collaboration with courts to address issues related to victims’ rights, including drafting legislation, administrative orders, and rule petitions, and leading efforts to revise statewide victim rights forms and procedures.

The position also manages the development and maintenance of standardized family law and child support forms, working with the Maricopa County IT team to ensure timely updates to statewide tools. Additional duties include analyzing Family Court operations to identify challenges and recommend solutions, researching and preparing grant proposals for special projects, and serving as faculty in training programs for court personnel at all levels.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid-telework schedule once the employee has completed three (3) months of employment and has sufficiently proved their ability to perform assigned tasks.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social science or public administration and an advanced degree in a related field, seven years’ experience in court administration or operations or a related field. Directly relevant experience may substitute for education. This position requires demonstrated experience in conducting reviews of court operations or court management consulting which included analyzing problems and documenting recommendations for improvement. Excellent group facilitation skills inclusive of committee development and management and written communication skills. This position also requires experience in organizing and prioritizing workload and managing multiple projects simultaneously, knowledge of management, planning and research principles, methods, and techniques. As well as the ability to work effectively with judges, court staff and the public.

The preferred candidate will be admitted to and in good standing with the State Bar organization, experience in the Arizona court system, and have knowledge of case flow management principles.
