Graceful Day Home Care is seeking a patient, caring, and experienced Respite Caregiver for a short-term in-home assignment in Trabuco Canyon, CA . This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children especially those with autism and wants to make a meaningful difference in a family’s daily life.

Job Summary

The selected caregiver will provide attentive, one-on-one care to a child with autism, offering a supportive, structured, and nurturing environment while parents take time to rest or attend to other responsibilities. This is a weekday position for three continuous weeks, 5 days a week, starting in June . Again: This is a four-hour morning shift, scheduled five days a week for the month of June.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, reliable in-home respite care for a child with autism
• Engage the child in appropriate, stimulating activities tailored to their interests and developmental needs
• Follow a consistent routine to help the child feel secure and comfortable
• Support emotional and behavioral needs with patience and understanding
• Communicate regularly with the family to ensure continuity of care
• Ensure a clean, safe, and supportive care environment

Qualifications

• Experience in working with people with autism or special needs
• Genuine love for children and interest in child development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm, positive, and proactive in a home setting

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the home
• Current negative TB test
• CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred but not required)
• Professional references
• Availability for all scheduled days (Monday–Friday for 3 weeks in June)
