Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS)
Dallas, Texas
Salary Range: $100K–$130K, commensurate with experience and tenure

Overview
An established and growing architecture and engineering firm is seeking an experienced Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) to take the reins of its Surveying Department. This leadership role involves managing field and office teams, driving quality and efficiency across diverse projects, and playing a visible role in both client relations and business development efforts. You will report to the Director of Survey and Site Planning. 

What You’ll Do

• Lead, manage, and mentor a high-performing team across a wide range of surveying projects.
• Oversee the production of boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, easements, subdivision plats, and construction layouts.
• Prepare detailed scopes, schedules, budgets, and proposals for survey assignments.
• Process and analyze field data using Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D .
• Review and sign off on final deliverables, including plats, metes and bounds descriptions, and survey exhibits.
• Coordinate field crews and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality.
• Engage with clients and represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and business development functions.
• Stay current with legal and technical surveying standards, including Texas boundary law and best practices.

What You Bring

• Active RPLS license in the State of Texas.
• At least 8 years of progressive land surveying experience.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center .
• Proven leadership skills and a passion for mentoring and team development.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Expertise in ALTA/NSPS surveys, platting, and construction staking/layouts.
• Ability to manage multiple field crews and survey operations simultaneously.
