Job Description

Work Arrangement:  Remote 

Position Summary:

Execute within defined geography to expand product distribution and velocity at decentralized distribution locations to increase Ventura Foods sales and margin. The ideal candidate lives in Illinois, Minnesota or Wisconsin.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct local Broker distributor activity for the specific distributor groups assigned in their book of business to deliver on Customer and Territory plan goals. Coordinates and facilitates distributor account activity with the local sales brokers & DSR's.
  • Own Customer and Territory Planning efforts for decentralized distribution in assigned geography. Create plans that roll up to achieve AOP growth and profit targets. Monthly plan review with Director along with quarterly plan updates.
  • Execute best in class sales training with DSR's and brokers along with key operator sales support to specified distributor group members as determined by Territory Plan.
  • Clearly Communicate the Ventura Customer Value Proposition, articulate how Ventura's service offerings solve specific customer problems. Organize, manage, and implement customer teams, to include all service functions in addition to partners in Logistics, and Operations, to achieve territory plans.
  • Sell the full product mix to Foodservice distributors with a concentrated effort on developing business with Local Distribution and key operators. Emphasis is on both value added Branded products and Exclusive Brand products.
  • Develop and implement distributor programs, where required, as support to maximize JBP/TP plans "strategic objectives" to drive volume and margin dollar growth.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ year's experience working in a sales capacity in the food service industry is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 60%.
  • Experience calling on distributors is required.
  • CRM (i.e. Salesforce) experience highly desired.
  • The ideal candidate lives in Illinois, Minnesota or Wisconsin. 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong relationship building, problem-solving & negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation & reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, lead generation and other relevant tools.
  • Exceptional oral, written and group communication skills.

Ventura Foods reserves the right to pay outside of the given range based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: candidate skills and experience, complexity of the job, budgetary factors, and location/geography.
