Job Description

Role Location: Remote East Coast Pearson's Product Software Group is looking for a Product Manager, Ecommerce who will be responsible to work with various cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, document, and drive implementation of critical digital business requirements in a holistic eCommerce product roadmap to deliver desired business outcomes and OKRs. This critical role will work closely with relevant cross-functional teams across Pearson, including but not limited to Engineering, Design, Program Mgmt, Analytics, Content, Operations, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Legal and Customer Support. This role requires a strong understanding of product management, keen attention to detail, and proven ability to collaborate with distributed and diverse teams, and stakeholders to drive business growth. The candidate is expected to have a strong knowledge of eCommerce best practices, industry trends and actively contribute to building a world-class, consumer grade eCommerce experience for Pearson. The position needs the ability to adapt and learn quickly to launch new products and enable new geographies on Pearson's eCommerce platform. Being able to rapidly identify the MVP for each new initiative, build stakeholder buy-in and relentlessly lead the execution against it, is a must. Thriving in an evolving environment, working to drive innovation, and continuous improvement for efficiency and sustainable growth is critical. **Key Responsibilities:** + Gain a holistic understanding of customers' needs, and business objectives, and identify the optimal user experience required to support that, with a keen eye for building usable, viable, and scalable products + Bridge the technology and business worlds by breaking down complex problems to outline the key business requirements and articulate them into product features in a holistic roadmap to drive prioritized implementation of best-in-class solution, within the stipulated timelines + Possess strong product intuition, and attention to detail, combined with a deep understanding of latest digital/eCommerce technologies on web and native mobile platforms + Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback review to make informed, data-driven product decisions and identify opportunities for automation, personalization, and AI-driven search relevance and recommendations + Collaborate closely with Engineering in technical solutioning discussions to identify appropriate implementation approaches, track product development, and develop product launch plans + Develop a product vision based on the business goals, breaking down high level requirements into deliverable user stories. Work hand-in-glove with Engineering, Design, Program Mgmt, and Quality Assurance teams to develop these stories during agile sprints and deliver compelling product features and improvements each release to enable a cohesive customer journey + Manage and communicate roadmap updates, and eCommerce product strategy to business and technology stakeholders + Ensure compliance with legal, security, and accessibility standards for the eCommerce business + Monitor key eCommerce performance metrics (e.g., conversion rates, revenue, AOV, LTV, cart abandonment rate etc.) to optimize key user flows in the discover, try, buy and use journey **Must Have Attributes:** + 5+ years in Product Management, or similar role in eCommerce, Software, SaaS or Technology related industries + Naturally inquisitive, independent critical thinker, proactive problem-solver and detail-oriented, grounded in sound business judgement + Proven ability to collaborate with Engineering, Design, and Business teams to deliver desired results + Demonstrated aptitude to manage requirements definition and product development to successfully deliver key objectives via structured, agile execution + Proven ability to coordinate backlog management and prioritization across diverse (sometimes competing) stakeholders + Strong understanding of eCommerce system architecture and in-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles + Strong experience with design thinking framework and A/B, MVT and other testing methods to improve customer experience and conversions + Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate product vision to stakeholders and senior executives + Strong experience with Jira, Jira Product Discovery, Confluence and Google Analytics is desired, along with a robust understanding of Agile scrum, SDLC methodologies and eCommerce and content management platforms (Hybris, AEM, BigCommerce etc.) Desirable + BS/BA in Engineering, Computer Science or related field **Personal Qualities:** + **Communication:** You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and effectively use these to influence decisions with persuasiveness and credibility.
