Job Description
Calvert School, an independent lower and middle school, is searching for a part-time Certified Athletic Trainer for the 2020-21 school year. Calvert School is dedicated to educating girls and boys through its time-tested method of teaching and its rigorous curriculum. Particular emphasis is given to mastering essential skills, inspiring a lifelong love of learning, and instilling enthusiasm, responsibility and self-discipline. Calvert School is located in Tuscany-Canterbury, a residential neighborhood in Baltimore City, just north of Johns Hopkins University and south of Loyola University Maryland, accessible from Charles Street and I-83. \

Calvert has a robust athletics program for our middle school students in Sixth through Eighth Grades. Over 90% of Calvert students participate in at least one season of sports. Calvert is in need of an athletic trainer to work with our coaches and athletes during the school year. The athletic trainer will be required to attend all afternoon practices and home games, which will require approximately four afternoons per week from 2:30 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. A list of our sports can be found on the Calvert website. \

The athletic trainer will conduct and supervise students overseeing injury prevention, injury management, immediate care and rehabilitation of injuries and will provide ongoing supervision of students to ensure compliance with treatment plans and standard operating procedures outlined by the sports medicine physicians as required by Maryland State Practice Act. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:\

Bachelors degree in Athletic Training or a related discipline\
Certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)\
Licensed in the State of Maryland\
CPR/AED certified \
Must possess a strong work ethic and be very dependable \
\
A FBI and State of Maryland background check will be performed. Salary will be based on the education and experience of the candidate.\
