Job Description

Bring complex machinery back to life—every shift.

Step into a fast-paced manufacturing environment where your electro‑mechanical expertise keeps production moving. In this full-time role, you’ll diagnose and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, control valves, and both centrifugal and positive displacement pumps. You’ll also troubleshoot AC/DC electrical systems, interpret schematics, and verify your findings with a Volt‑Ohm meter, ammeter, and oscilloscope. Your solid understanding of PLCs, preventive maintenance programs, and work order tracking will help you prioritize and resolve issues quickly.

You’ll move fluidly between disciplines—from high‑voltage (480V, 3‑phase) electrical work to precision mechanical repairs. On any given day, you might machine a part on a lathe or mill, perform arc and Heliarc® (TIG) welding for a fabrication fix, then mentor an entry-level mechanic through a tricky diagnostic. Expect variety: the facility is large, the work can be loud, and temperatures can fluctuate with the seasons.

A day in the life

  • Respond urgently to maintenance calls to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot a wide range of equipment and systems; perform multi-craft repairs end to end.
  • Repair production and facility equipment to restore peak performance.
  • Ensure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Inspect machinery, develop repair lists, and plan short- and long-term corrective actions.
  • Work from task lists and apply professional judgment to resolve root causes, not just symptoms.
  • Assist junior mechanics with complex repairs and share best practices.

What you’ll bring

  • Proficiency in: Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills; Electrical Systems Diagnostics & Repair; Electrical Repair.
  • Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and related controls.
  • Comfort working with 480V 3‑phase motors and high-voltage wiring.
  • Ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics and use diagnostic instruments (VOM, amp meter, oscilloscope).
  • Capability to operate lathes, mills, arc welders, and Heliarc® equipment for repair and fabrication.

Minimum requirements

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Willing to work weekends and holidays; hours vary by assigned location.
  • Lift 15–50 lbs with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Comfort working around extreme temperatures, humidity, loud/hazardous equipment, and slippery surfaces.

Preferred background

  • Electrical certification, maintenance manufacturing experience, technical school training, or welding experience.
  • Two or more years of training/experience in mechanical/electrical repair in a manufacturing setting (preferred, not required).

We offer a robust training program to build on your proven maintenance foundation. Before the in-person interview, you’ll complete a hands-on electrical skills assessment.

If you’re earlier in your career, consider one of our entry-level roles—we encourage you to apply where your skills align best.

Work environment & culture

Our maintenance team thrives under pressure and takes pride in getting lines back up quickly. You’ll switch gears often, balance planned work with urgent calls, and collaborate across all levels on the floor—always with a safety-first mindset.

  • Customer Service: We partner with every team on the floor with professionalism and respect.
  • Flexibility: Priorities shift—staying calm and focused is key.
  • Self-Starter: Own the quality and pace of your work, especially during PMs and break-fix.
  • Safety Focused: Follow policies and procedures to protect people and product.

You’ll start with Frito-Lay, unlocking career paths across our parent company, PepsiCo. We set industry standards for pay and provide comprehensive benefits: health, dental, and vision coverage; retirement savings with a 401(k) company contribution; paid vacation; and more.
