Salary Range : Commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
Hours : up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions Job Summary Assist Head coach to provide management of the men's basketball program.
Responsible for recruiting prospective student-athletes, on-court coaching, serves as community relations liaison for the men's basketball program to public, and monitor academic progress of student-athletes.
Core Responsibilities - Be knowledgeable of and adhere to NCAA and conference rules.
- Recruit quality student athletes.
- Monitor satisfactory academic progress of student athlete and help arrange for necessary academic counseling through Athletics Academic Coordinator.
- Assist Head Coach with on the floor coaching.
- Assist Head Coach with recruitment of student athletes.
- Assist Head Coach with basketball training of student athletes.
- Assist Head Coach with scheduling of opponents.
- Work with the Athletics Administration in matters of public relations and promotions.
- Be active in fund raising for the Athletics Department.
- Support student-athlete development programs and assure student-athlete welfare of team by being respectful.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Three (3) years of experience as a basketball student-athlete or coach.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UTSA and its infrastructure.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Specific knowledge in the sport of men's basketball and knowledge and compliance with all NCAA, State of Texas, UTSA and The American Athletic Conference rules and regulations.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational, written, and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, discretion, and flexibility.

- Valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) as applicable.
Working Conditions
- Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events.
- Occasional after hours and weekend work or overtime may be required.
Physical Demands:
- Physical activity in the sport of men's basketball, weekend and evening hours and required travel.
- Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasional.
This position will be primarily located on campus . Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
