As a Journeyman Mold, Die & Jig Machinist, you’ll be the go-to expert who builds, qualifies, and sustains the tooling that powers production. If you thrive on precision, problem-solving, and craftsmanship, this role is for you.

What you’ll tackle

• Build and assemble: molds, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, prototype and machine parts, material-handling tools, and simple machines according to engineering and tool design specifications.
• Qualification and documentation: perform gauge and fixture compliance inspections, verify critical features to the master print, complete fixture qualification reports, and enter results in the quality compliance database.
• Maintenance and improvement: conduct preventive and routine maintenance on dies, molds, fixtures, gauges, material-handling equipment, and simple machines; recommend design and performance enhancements.
• From concept to cut: interpret tool requests, prints, sketches, sample parts, and verbal instructions; use technical manuals, the machinery handbook, and reference literature to set speeds/feeds, clearances, and heat-treat specifications.
• Measure with confidence: use micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, sine bars, Jo-blocks, surface plates, dial indicators, visual comparators, and CMM equipment.
• Material movement: operate overhead cranes for safe handling of tooling and materials.
• Scope and source: estimate jobs and prepare material lists; propose new tooling concepts and modifications to boost reliability and output.
• Team up with maintenance to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Champion 5S and safety: maintain a clean, safe area; follow EHS standards; collaborate to identify and mitigate hazards.

Minimum qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (accredited).
• Completed 5-year Tool & Die Maker apprenticeship with 576 hours of vocational training and 10,400 hours of OJT, holding a Journeyman’s Toolmaker Certification.
• 1+ year operating both conventional machine tools and CNC equipment.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred

• At least 1 year using Autodesk CAD.
