Job Description
Industrial Maintenance Technician
Location: Richmond, VA
Job Type: Full-Time
Shifts Available: Multiple shifts (1st and 3rd shift openings available)
Compensation: $23–$32 per hour
A day in the life
Your shift starts with a quick walk of the production floor—listening for unusual sounds, scanning for alarms, and reviewing work orders. A conveyor has a vibration issue: you diagnose a worn bearing, replace it, and document the repair to keep downtime to a minimum. Later, you swap a motor, adjust a gearbox, and fine‑tune a pneumatic actuator. Between calls, you complete scheduled preventive maintenance, update logs, and make sure every task is done safely and by the book.
What you’ll take ownership of
- Executing preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery to keep output steady
- Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Diagnosing equipment failures quickly to reduce downtime
- Installing, aligning, adjusting, and rebuilding components as needed
- Reading and interpreting schematics, equipment manuals, and work orders
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Maintaining accurate service, repair, and PM documentation
- Following all safety policies and procedures at all times
What you bring
- Industrial maintenance experience (required)
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems; electrical experience preferred
- Background with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, or similar equipment
- Ability to diagnose issues independently and resolve them promptly
- Reliability, punctuality, and comfort in a fast-paced production environment
Preferred (not required)
- Electrical troubleshooting of motors, controls, and sensors
- PLC troubleshooting (no programming required)
- Welding or basic fabrication experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or production facility
Why this role
You’ll keep critical equipment running, develop broad electromechanical skills, and see the direct impact of your work on safe, efficient, continuous production.
