Position Description
As a Fuel Polishing Technician, you’ll deliver on‑site diesel and gasoline tank cleaning and filtration services that keep critical fuel systems operating safely and efficiently. You’ll drive to client locations, set up polishing equipment, perform technical fuel‑management tasks, and document all work—helping customers stay compliant with environmental and safety standards.

Training & Travelling Requirements
  • 8–10 weeks paid training in Santa Ana, CA — travel, hotel & per diem covered
  • Rare long hauls: up to 8 hrs. driving in a day
  • Light overnight travel: ≤ 12 nights/12 weeks, max 4 consecutive; weekends home when possible
  • Cross‑training: Hazardous Waste Hauler + TAIT safety certs
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily pre‑trip truck inspections; load required tools & parts
  • Drive 20–150 miles per day (occasional overnight routes)
  • Perform fuel polishing, filtration, and tank cleaning to PEI and TAIT standards
  • Inspect fuel tanks/monitoring systems; respond to alarms or filtration alerts
  • Communicate with client reps to confirm scope and job completion
  • Safely climb up to 10 ft to position pumps and secure barrels
  • Load, transport, and unload drums (40‑500 lbs with dolly/assistance)
  • Deliver empty barrels and remove full ones—up to six sites per day
  • Complete electronic work orders and service logs in real time
  • Uphold all environmental, health & safety regulations
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2–3 years commercial driving ; comfortable maneuvering 31′ trucks in tight spaces
  • Class A, B, or Commercial C California driver’s license with clean record with Hazmat endorsements
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel overnight (advance notice provided)
  • Strong verbal & written communication; professional customer interaction
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with petroleum fueling systems & Veeder‑Root monitoring
  • Prior HazWoper, Fall Protection, or Confined‑Space certifications
  • Knowledge of hazardous‑waste handling protocols
  • Basic computer skills (email, electronic forms)
Physical Requirements
  • Drive up to 1,000 miles/week during busy periods
  • Work on varied terrains (dirt, asphalt, construction zones)
  • Lift/transport barrels up to 500 lbs. with proper equipment and help
  • Comfortable working at heights up to 10 ft with PPE
Salary and Benefits
Salary range for position: $25/hr. - $35/hr. (plus opportunities for prevailing wage jobs)
