Job Description

As an Event Server for Alamo Cafe you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of events hosted at our restaurants. This role involves setting up the event space, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guests have a positive experience. The ideal candidate will be attentive, personable, and able to work in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and occasionally decor.
• Ensure all necessary event materials (menus, utensils, etc) are in place prior to guest arrival.
• Greet guests upon arrival and offer beverage and menu options.
• Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring guests' needs are met throughout the event.
• Refill drinks and clear plates in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace during events.
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing any guest concerns or special needs.
• Ensure a positive experience for all guests by maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Work closely with the kitchen staff and event coordinators to ensure seamless service.
• Communicate effectively with team members to manage timing and service flow.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of food and beverages.
• Ensure compliance with Alamo Cafe's policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in event service, catering, or a similar role is preferred.
• Experience in a customer-facing role, especially in food and beverage service, is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to move quickly and efficiently in a busy environment.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules. (Flexible hours based on event bookings)
• Must have and maintain a Food Handlers and TABC Certifications.
