Mississippi College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of the Baptist Student Union (BSU). This position functions as a spiritual mentor and program coordinator for the students involved with the ministry at Mississippi College. This includes weekly worship and fellowship, discipleship opportunities, evangelism, missions mobilization, and other tasks as God leads or conditions demand. Additionally, the BSU Director acts as liaison between the BSU ministry and the University, working alongside other campus ministries and area churches. A detailed job description is attached.
QUALIFCATIONS:
Master’s degree from accredited Seminary
Active member in a Baptist church, maintain a healthy personal church life, able to lead student into local church involvement
Commitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally
Knowledge of and commitment to traditional Baptist distinctives, denominational structure, and church programs
Relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad range of persons in a variety relationships and settings, including but not limited to: students, faculty, staff, local church leadership, ministry leaders, and Mississippi Baptists
Ability to communicate the vision of BSU
Make effective, timely, and appropriate decisions, and maintain confidentiality
Provide strategic and logistical planning to facilitate meetings, conferences, workshops, and retreats as required
Excellent professional written communication skills, including the ability to report proficiently on the work of MC BSU
Excellent listening, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask, and manage a variety of tasks
