Peregrine Advisors Benefit Inc. is seeking a highly capable Data Governance and Policy Specialist to join our Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO) support team. This role is ideal for a data-savvy professional with a passion for strategic impact through data governance and compliance. You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing robust data governance frameworks, aligning policy with federal data regulations, and ensuring sustainable data stewardship practices across the agency. Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise on governance framework development and implementation to the OCDO
• Work with the agency staff to analyze enterprise-wide data requirements and design strategies to promote effective data management across the organization
• Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures that enhance data management and comply with applicable laws and regulations
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations related to data use and make recommendations to update governance frameworks accordingly
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate and implement data policies and procedures across the organization
• Conduct regular assessments of data policy and procedure compliance to encourage adherence and identify areas for improvement
• Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding data governance and policy development and implementation
• Assist in the development, assessment, and implementation of data management standards and guidelines

Requirements

•  Commitment to creating exceptional client, organizational, and social value

• Bachelor’s degree +2 years of experience in governance framework development and implementation or Advanced degree.
• Strong technical writing skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Familiarity with applicable data protection laws and regulations (e.g., CUI, FDTA, OGDA, Federal Data Strategy)
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Mental flexibility to quickly adapt to new tasks and requirements in a highly dynamic environment
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Ability to travel to Washington DC as needed
• Must be a US citizen or a Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) and willing and able to hold a Public Trust Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

 Experience working with legal teams on data policy development and implementation
