The Communications Specialist supports strategic and tactical communications for diverse audiences, including the 32 participating Plans, executives, and internal business, IT, and healthcare provider teams. This role develops high-quality content, manages communications projects, supports major events, and collaborates across teams to ensure clear, consistent, and effective messaging.
Write and edit a variety of communications materials, including newsletters, website content, leadership communications, talking points, marketing copy, and client communications.
Manage the full lifecycle of communications projects, including planning, tracking progress, preparing updates, and coordinating with leadership and committees.
Develop and maintain communications SOPs, templates, and policies; manage version control and ensure compliance with standards.
Serve as a primary point of contact for external stakeholders across the 32 Plans, ensuring timely, accurate communication of program activities and initiatives.
Support communications planning and execution for key events such as the annual April conference, town halls, and other organizational meetings.
Partner with internal teams to create marketing campaigns and outreach efforts to promote initiatives and increase engagement.
Stay informed on industry trends to enhance messaging and identify opportunities for improvement.
Note: This role does not involve member-facing communications.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, or related field (or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree).
Minimum 3 years of communications experience.
Strong writing, editing, and project management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate effectively with varied audiences.
High attention to detail, strong organization skills, and comfort operating independently in a fast-paced environment.
