**Hiring Cable Splicers - Data Center Opportunity** **Position: Cable Splicer** **Location:** Based in Des Moines, Iowa (Travel to Cedar Rapids, Monday-Friday) **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Description** - A leading communications contractor is seeking a skilled Cable Splicer to support structured cabling and fiber optic projects in Cedar Rapids. This role involves weekly travel (Monday-Friday) with hotel accommodations and a $35 daily per diem provided. Technicians return home to Des Moines each weekend. **Key Responsibilities** + Splice, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables + Perform ribbon splicing for high-count fiber installations + Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation + Conduct cable routing, labeling, and documentation + Operate hand tools, fusion splicers, and test equipment + Ensure all work meets industry standards and safety regulations **Qualifications** + Experience in cable splicing (Ribbon preferred) or structured cabling + Familiarity with CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optic systems + Experience with ribbon splicing preferred + Ability to travel Monday-Friday and work on-site in Cedar Rapids + Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality + Valid driver's license and reliable transportation **Compensation & Benefits** + Competitive hourly wage based on experience + $35/day per diem plus hotel accommodations during travel + Full-time hours with overtime potential + Opportunities for advancement in a growing company **Apply Now - If you're ready to take your cabling skills on the road and be part of a high-performing team, apply today.** **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
