Summary

Perdue AgriBusiness has an immediate opening for a Building & Grounds Maintenance Mechanic at our facility in  Cofield, NC . 

The essential function of this position is to perform assigned maintenance duties within scope of classification to include upkeep or improvements to all buildings and office buildings along with the auxiliary equipment that support these structures.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on buildings including but not limited to paint, trim work, shelves, doors, etc
• Perform general carpentry repairs to buildings in office type structures
• Perform general plumbing repairs to buildings in office type structures
• Assist in grounds maintenance when needed mowing, landscaping, snow and ice removal
• Compile and complete paperwork relative to repairs to include but not limited to work order, time cards and job cards
• Perform all work within safety guidelines established by local, state and federal agencies as well as company policies
• Respond to calls after hours and on weekends as needed for unplanned emergencies
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Preferred Education

• High School graduate or equivalent

Experience Requirements

• 2 years of professional experience
• Valid state drivers license

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

• Able to move freely throughout the AgriBusiness facilities to include climbing vertical heights (0-150')
• Climbing vertical ladders
• Carrying tools and equipment (0-50 pounds)
• Exposure to extreme temperatures (0-1000 degrees F)
• Humidity (0-100%)
• noise (50db to 100db) 
• chemicals ( MSDS sheets available)
• Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus
• Required to travel to remote AgriBusiness facilities
