AHRC New York City is seeking an Assistant Director for their Residential Department.

Salary: $110,000 per year ....plus a comprehensive Benefit package. See Benefit information below.

Schedule : Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

Essential Responsibilities

Supervisory

  • Directly supervises residence managers, program coordinators, and administrative and other staff in assigned region.
  • Ensures that programmatic needs are met through the coordination and supervision of staff who make up the interdisciplinary teams within his/her region.
  • Oversees and provides training and development in the area of managerial skills for supervisory and clinical staff under his/her purview.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with agency policy and applicable laws as related to interviewing and hiring; planning and directing work assignments; drafting performance appraisals; conducting disciplinary actions; and addressing personnel complaints as needed.
  • Formulates new ideas and suggests changes to increase efficiency and productivity of staff.

Operational

  • Ensures ongoing compliance and quality assurance with State and Federal regulations pertinent to the operation of all facilities under his/her jurisdiction.
  • Represents department/agency on a regional level, i.e., parent meetings, admissions and discharge committees, neighborhood advisory boards, regional councils and other OPWDD providers.
  • Acts as liaison for the region assigned and ensures the coordination of services for individuals being served under the Home and Community Based Waiver Program.
  • Promotes and expands upon self-advocacy programs for individuals served.
  • Performs activities of staff supervised as need arises.
  • Conducts or reviews investigations for personnel and participant related incidents.
  • Assists in development of new residential facilities as needed.
  • Ensures all aspects of billing and compliance with reporting regulations are completed in timely and accurate manner.
  • Participates in CHOICES processes and in completion of DDP2 forms.
  • Conducts other assigned tasks, as requested.

Qualifications



REQUIRED QUALIFICIATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Health Administration or related field required. Master’s Degree highly desirable.
  • No less than four years of supervisory/administrative experience in management of community residences or ICF/DD facilities or similar managerial position in field of OPWDD.
  • Must be QIDP certified.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate with wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions in resolving operational issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook, as well as capacity to quickly learn to use agency-specific databases and systems.
  • Ability to fully understand and implement constantly evolving regulations, policies, procedures and practices related to the OPWDD field.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License, with sound driving history.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel between sites within a given region.
