Job Description

Position: The 3K - 5th Part-time Art Teacher will have the unique opportunity to inspire and educate students in Art. Our ideal candidate is a passionate and dedicated educator with a strong background in Art and Art History and has the ability to adapt to various teaching levels and styles with a commitment to fostering a positive Learning environment for our students. Responsibilities:

• Studio Art: Teach students fundamental drawing, painting, and sculpture techniques while fostering an appreciation for beauty
• Art Appreciation (Art History): Guide students through the history of art, focusing on key artistic movements, styles, and artists, particularly within the Catholic tradition.
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans in line with the NYS Curriculum Standards
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and academic growth
• Assess student progress through assignments, exams, and other evaluation methods
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative educational experience
• Utilize creative teaching methods to enhance student learning and comprehension
• Effectively integrate technology
• Diligently enforce all school policies

Requirements:

• Practicing Roman Catholic and demonstrate a commitment to Catholic education (Preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
• Teaching certification/license in the relevant subject area -preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong ability to integrate Catholic theology and philosophy with the arts.
• Committed to the mission of HCJCA and the teachings of the Catholic Church
• Knowledge of special education practices and principles
