Position Summary

The 2D Artist will work with other Artists, Technical Artists, and Developers to conceive, create, and deliver high quality art for game features, game UI, and ongoing live game content. They are required to coordinate delivery of finished assets to the technical artists in a complete, organized, and well-documented fashion. They should have the ability to deliver exceptional quality using multiple looks, styles, palettes, etc. within a reasonable production schedule.

2D artists are expected to be expert users of multiple Adobe products and/or 3D software. Staff Artists are expected to have superior talents in several artistic categories, including: illustration, graphic design, color theory, character design, with 3d skills being a very strong plus.

Responsibilities :

• Follow the direction of the Art Director and Art Manager to create high quality concept art for game feature screens that adhere to the overall game’s illustration and UI aesthetic.
• Work rapidly to ideate creative concepts and work in an iterative process.
• Create game feature concepts that work with existing game UI aesthetic.
• Create illustrations that are pre-planned to work well with 2D animation and vfx.
• Create logo designs for game features that adhere to game art style.
• Create animatics that pre-visualize game animations, UI transitions and vfx.
• Use and/or create 3D elements as basis for 2D illustrations.
• Work with AI to aid with initial concepts or asset creation.
• Demonstrate ability to follow dictated file structure and organization for delivery of art assets. 
• Demonstrate ability to provide all necessary assets and documentation within expected deadlines. 

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience creating art for mobile games
• Exceptional understanding of character design, color theory, composition, lighting, graphic design and text treatments.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop. 
• Proficient in Adobe After Effects.
• Experience using Adobe Illustrator.
• Experience using Blender is preferred.
• Experience using AI tools is a plus
• Ability to follow direction, learn, expand talents and skill sets.
